As someone who travels a lot and has had many homes in different countries, I could really relate to this, Harneek. The periods of transition, whether it’s going or coming back, are always hardest (often made worse by jet lag). It is SO imperative that we make space for our feelings. Some people seem to move on more quickly than others, but what truly matters is having awareness of who YOU are and what YOU need. I wish you a smoother than usual transition and many, many beautiful days ahead! As always, I enjoyed your honest examination of life.💕

Dear Harneek, you have a wonderful way with words. I found myself nodding in recognition as I read each sentence of your beautiful essay. The excitement of starting a new role or life elsewhere, miles away from your loved ones, and the sharp pangs of yearning to be in their physical presence all the same... I have been grappling with similar feelings and have learnt so much about myself in this short professional stint in France. Thank you for enlivening this space with your reflections, and encouraging all of us to do the same...with compassion and love. 💙

And thank you for including me in your recommendations. 🤩

Hey Shreya, thanks for your heartwarming comment. Yes, staying away from my family and country has taught me so much about myself too. That thought gives me relief but sometimes you wonder, what's next and how much will you do this life? Feels like it has been become a journey to accept your feelings about the confusion and the pull of both the lives I live.

You are very welcome, actually your essay inspired me to make a list about what I miss about India, my parents and my grand mum's house. :)
