Finally, I am here
With myself and my diary,
Sipping my morning drink and looking at the birds,
The birds who wait for me when I open the curtains of my window,
The big birds didn’t arrive today yet,
The small ones got the chance to eat the rice at their own pace,
My mum will be happy to hear this.
I have seen some small birds trying to eat the rice from the plate with the big birds,
I have seen some small birds always eating the rice from the floor,
Not even trying to go for the plate first,
The rice gets scattered on the floor by the birds eating from the plate,
May be, the small birds think they are not capable to face the big ones,
May be, they feel it’s not safe to eat the rice from the plate,
May be, they think they only deserve the rice on the floor,
May be, they only know to leave the rice on the plate for others,
May be, they have accepted eating the rice from the floor as their fate,
May be, they don’t even know that there is enough rice on the plate,
May be, they are just hungry and don’t care.

- . A beautiful reminder by Arsh to give yourself grace when you fall off your core values.
I love how you used the metaphor of the small birds to reveal so much about human nature, too (scarcity vs abundance mindsets, people-pleasing, tendency to keep oneself small, etc). Beautiful!
